Write down what makes an employer a fit
Choose three or four criteria that matter to you: the kind of work, industry, location, company size, or working arrangement. Separate requirements from preferences. For example, being able to work from your country may be essential, while a particular job title may be flexible.
Begin with five employers
Pick a mix of familiar companies and smaller employers you would seriously consider. Confirm each official website. Keep a short note about why the company belongs on your list; this helps you remove choices that no longer fit instead of growing a list you never review. Ktulhu’s free guest search lets you try these first five without an account.
Use broad filters before narrowing
Employers name similar work differently. Begin with a term such as accounting, design, or operations rather than a long exact title. Check the combined results, then add a location or remote filter. When results disappear, clear one filter at a time. The company selection determines whose jobs are searched; the filters determine which of those jobs you see.
Keep promising searches easy to revisit
Sign in with ChatGPT to save your companies and a set of filters. A guest shortlist stays in the same browser tab for a limited time. Saved filters apply to your currently selected companies; they are not separate company lists. Pro supports up to 50 selected employers and ten saved filters when your research expands. Neither plan includes automatic email alerts or scheduled searches.
Review the list and apply at the source
Return when you are ready to search and refresh your selected companies. Read coverage notices before treating missing results as a hiring signal. Open promising roles on the employer’s site, verify requirements and availability, and apply there. Remove companies that no longer fit and replace them with employers you have researched.
