How to find jobs on company websites

A company’s own careers page is a useful second place to look when a job board does not show the employers or roles you want. Here is a repeatable way to find the right source and bring several employers into one search.

Start with the official company website

Use the company’s full name and confirm its business and web address before looking for jobs. Similar names can belong to different employers. On the official site, look for Careers, Jobs, Join us, or Work with us in the main menu and footer. If a name search is ambiguous, use the website you have verified.

Follow the hiring link, even if it changes domains

Employers often send applicants to a separate hiring platform. A careers landing page may explain the culture without listing vacancies. Look for Open positions, View jobs, or Apply now. Follow the link from the employer’s own site to establish that the destination belongs to that employer. Keep the complete destination URL: some systems identify the company in query parameters.

An example: Financial Accounting Foundation

On accountingfoundation.org, the FAF Careers and Advisory Roles page has an Open Positions card. Its Apply Now link leads to ADP, where the vacancies are listed. Stopping on the first careers page can miss that second step. In Ktulhu, use the foundation’s full name or official website; the verified route helps the search reach the hiring source.

Search a small set of employers together

Add up to five companies to a free Ktulhu guest search. Their available openings appear in one list. Start with a broad role keyword, then narrow by location. A remote designation can still come with country, state, or time-zone requirements, so read the full posting before applying.

Treat an empty search as a reason to check the source

No matching roles can mean your filters are too narrow. No openings returned can mean the source is empty, incomplete, or temporarily unreadable. Clear the filters, read any coverage notice, and open the employer’s source. A failed check is not evidence that the company is not hiring. Always confirm availability and application instructions with the employer.
